Polish consumers – ECOlogical or ECOnomic?

Already in mid-November we will present the results of the 4th edition of EKObarometer. The EKOBAROMETER project is a series of studies devoted to the analysis of current attitudes and moods of Polish consumers towards the broadly understood ecology present in various spheres of everyday life. One of them is the social dimension, showing e.g. how Poles approach ecology as such and how their attitudes towards the environment differ. The second sphere is the area of ​​marketing communication, showing e.g. how consumers perceive advertisements using ecological themes. Below we present a fragment of the results from the latest study.

On the one hand, Poles are trying to move away from attitudes associated with consumerism by limiting the purchase of new equipment or clothes.

This approach is particularly visible among women (47%), who plan to give up shopping for clothes more often than men (33%), and among the oldest people (54%) - the older the respondents, the less likely they are to buy new clothes. On the other hand, we observe that over 40% of Poles intend to "hunt" for promotions, discounts and special offers more often. This attitude is shown mainly by those groups of respondents who declare a reduction in purchases, i.e. women (47%) and the oldest people (47%). The tendency to give up buying new things while looking for products at lower prices may be based on the current economic situation and the need to take care of the household budget.
